Too Kawaii to Die is a comics and illustration zine that seeks to mesh the sublimely cute with the surreal, disgusting, sad, and bizarre. This issue features 10 artists covering the topics of dragon turd collection, disappointing magical girl transformations, cyborg ennui, and adorable vomit. There is also an audio component, this issue’s EP spans multiple genre’s and just about every topic despite only being 3 songs long :) The first EP is also available on the linked bandcamp.
There are links to the previous issues for viewing/download here
And there are links to buy every issue except for #3 here (#5 coming soon)And finally: I’m sad to announce that this will be the last issue of Too Kawaii to Die. It’s been really really fun, and it is hands down the biggest and coolest project I’ve had the honor of shepherding so far. I’ve met loads of amazing artists, make great friendships, and we all came together to create something wonderful for people to read.Despite all this, each issue has been a bit off a mess to orchestrate and I want to move on to a publishing project that doesn’t launch months late every time. It’s also been several years and I think it’s time for a different theme. So, at some point in the future I will be starting up FOUR SCORE. A quarterly publication featuring 4 new artists per issue, covering the genre of naive-sports comics and illustration. It will be for real printed and not on demand printed this time so prepare for some fancy zine quality.Thank you to everyone who’s submitted, supported, and read TKTD. Please spread this last issue and stay tuned to this blog or my main blog for new on reading or being a part of FOUR SCORE.PS: I will be trying to compile all the old TKTDs to the best of my ability into one volume, possibly manga sized. This has to do with quality and original file gettability.

The #5 proof got here and it looks great! Launch will probably be tomorrow :)

Once again Ka-Blam’s poor customer service never ceases to amaze me.

In the past you could order a free proof copy. I would order this, they would let me know if there were any issues with it before sending it off.

Now they’re charging for the proof, and they did not even check my files until I had paid for it (and I didn’t know that was the case)

So yeah, just corrected some minor technical issues and paid for the proof.

TKTD#5 soon?

I should also probably mention that this will be the last issue of TKTD. I’ll make a big post about it after #5 is out (don’t worry I’m starting up a new project :))

Corrections have been made and the zine if off to the printers!

I forgot to mention this but YOU CAN STILL SUBMIT MUSIC

Turns out there isn’t really much processing to do so as long as you submit before the zine’s official release it’ll get in there

Thanks for all your hard work!

Hoi, if you didn't get an email for final approval does that mean you didn't make the cut? And if so will you still make it into the online version? :0

You should have gotten an email? What’s your current email maybe I did it wrong

Apparently Indyplanet is having some technical difficulties so if you’ve tried to buy a comic lately and gotten an error I am looking into it.

TKTD#5 has been sent out to contributing artists for final approval so expect it soon.

Well we’ve passed the deadline. I’ll let all the excellent submitters to this issue know as it is put together.
