Hello everyone, Too Kawaii to Die #5 is finally opening up for submissions! The guidelines are essentially the same (I modified the last ones very slightly). Even so, make sure to double check basic specifications and deadline.
What Is Too Kawaii to Die?
It’s a non-profit comics and illustration zine with the theme of cute meets scary, stupid, strange, sad, and serious. Traditionally we add a pinch of bitter anime memories to the brew but it’s not required. You don’t have to be anime to work here, but it helps!

The zine is also printed and sold at cost via on demand printers. Visit this blog’s “Buy” page for links to issues #1, #2, and #4 (it is unlikely that 3 will be reprinted in the near future due to technical issues)
What should submissions be? And in what format?
Submissions can be comics or illustrations. FULL COLOR YAY. You can submit as many things as you’d like, multiple images or comics. If your comic is over 7 pages, let me know so we can make sure you’re not crowding anyone out.
Pages should be 7” wide X 10.5” and 300 DPI (or more)
We are using this template: http://ka-blam.com/printing/front/?p=119
They can be JPG, PNG, or TIFF
Please learn about what trim area/live area/bleed pages mean before you layout your pages. Let me know if you need something about it cleared up.
When is the deadline?
The deadline is April 11th
If it’s close to the deadline and you’re not sure you’re going to make it. Contact me, things can be worked out!
Where do I send my submission(s)?
Send them to email@example.com, this is also where you can direct all of your queries and questions.
Please also include your credits (name/pseudonym and website[s])
You can also ask questions at tookawaiitodie.tumblr.com
Feel free to contact me just to declare your intent to submit, it’s nice knowing who is planning to. I try very hard to keep in contact with all interested artists.
In the case that there are too many submissions for the print edition, the rest will all be in the digital version. This was not a problem last time as anticipated, so don’t let it scare you off.
So, in conclusion: I look forward to seeing, spreading, and printing amazing work from contributors old and new. Each issue has been better than the last and I expect his to be no different.
Keep it kawaii motherfuckers
I forgot to add: If you submit something please also include your desired credits. As in, name/pseudonym and website(s).
I have added this to the above post and to the guidelines page on the tumblr.
